If your business runs delivery routes or service calls around Dallas-Fort Worth, the Chevrolet BrightDrop deserves a look. It was designed from the ground up as an electric delivery van, and remaining 2025 and 2026 models are now one of the best values in the electric cargo segment. Premier Autos of Dallas has both model years in stock in Addison.

What Is the Chevrolet BrightDrop?

The BrightDrop launched in 2022 as the BrightDrop Zevo and became the Chevrolet BrightDrop for 2025. It rides on GM's Ultium battery platform, with the battery under the floor for a tall, open cargo area. GM ended production in October 2025, so remaining vans have been priced aggressively. Existing vans keep their factory warranties, including 8-year/100,000-mile electrification coverage.

BrightDrop 400 vs. 600

Both vans share the same cab, battery options and tech. The difference is size:

  • BrightDrop 400: About 412 cubic feet of cargo space and a tighter turning circle. Best for dense urban stops, residential streets and service techs.
  • BrightDrop 600: About 615 cubic feet and four more feet of cargo floor. Best for high-volume parcel routes and shelving down both walls.

Both offer 82 inches of interior cargo height, so most drivers can stand upright, and a bulkhead door lets drivers walk from the seat to the cargo area without stepping outside.

2025 vs. 2026: What Changed?

The body and cargo area carry over. The 2026 models add a mid-level Extended Range battery between the Standard and Max Range packs. GM estimates range from about 160 miles on 2025 Standard models up to 286 miles on a 2026 BrightDrop 600 with the Max Range battery. Since the battery matters more than the model year, our team can confirm the pack on any van by VIN.

Range and Charging in North Texas

The BrightDrop goes farther in town than on the highway, because regenerative braking recovers energy at every stop. Long highway runs and heavy A/C use in a Texas summer will reduce range, so plan routes with a cushion. Most businesses charge overnight on a Level 2 charger at the shop and start each day full. Max Range models can also add up to 180 miles of range per hour on a public DC fast charger.

With no oil changes, no DPF or DEF service and longer brake life, an electric van can lower operating costs on predictable local routes.

Tax Credits and Deductions

The federal Section 45W commercial EV credit ended for vehicles acquired after September 30, 2025. However, the BrightDrop's GVWR is well above 6,000 pounds, so a van used mostly for business may qualify for the Section 179 deduction and 100% bonus depreciation. Check with your CPA.
